Bett talks
"Most classrooms have been constructed to be cloistered and controllable, ignoring the tangled webs our minds have evolved into specifically to engage ‘wicked' problems, like climate change. The isolation and linearity of much teaching has been threatened by technologies that enable students to connect to information and people not previously possible which has led to teacher frustration and confusion."
With a humorous and non-technical approach pi-top's Director of Learning and Research, Dr William Rankin, will explore in his talk 'Fusion skills, not fission skills: shaping a new generation of learning' ways to reimagine teaching and learning to offer a new way to chart the path for education. Join us at The Bett Arena at 14.00 on Friday, 25th of January.
Educator Allen Tsui will also share his experience as an Academic Enrichment Programme Leader at Willow Brook Primary School Academy (London, UK). Come and hear on the 23rd of January at 11.15 (The Bett Arena) how the school has exceeded the demands of the “new” National Curriculum, particularly in computing, becoming accredited as a computing and STEM-based learning Centre of Excellence, and what tools the students use in the classroom, including pi-top.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we'll see you at Bett!
