The computing curriculum four years on
I do not think that simply digitising an emerging workforce is the way forward. These are not the skills that are going to enable our students to thrive in the fourth industrial revolution.

Who knew! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Well, most parents probably. An interesting piece in the New York Times about a new study (full report in The Lancet here) looking into children's cognitive development.
Empathy is tough to teach...
...but is one of the most important life lessons. With so-called 'soft skills' being critical for today's learners, this piece on KQED examines the role of empathy in learning. From the article, 'children have opportunities to learn empathy from their parents, but also from their teachers and peers.' Well worth a read.
